Morning-Of Nerves: 4 Ways to Stay Calm Before the Aisle
Everything will be just fine:
It is totally normal to feel a flutter of anxiety on the morning of your wedding. You have spent months planning this day, and the anticipation is finally peaking!
If you find yourself pacing the room, here are a few ways to ground yourself before you walk down the aisle:
Tips & tricks:
Eat Something: I know your stomach is in knots, but you need fuel. Have a piece of toast or a banana. Fainting at the altar is a tradition we’d prefer to avoid!
The 4-7-8 Breath: Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale slowly for 8 seconds. It physically slows your heart rate down.
Have a “First Look”: If you are highly anxious about everyone staring at you, consider a private “first look” with your partner before the ceremony. Seeing them will instantly calm your nerves.
Trust Your Team: Remember, you hired professionals. If the flowers are late or the music skips, it doesn’t matter. My job is to handle the ceremony logistics (and remind you What To Do With Your Hands), so you can just focus on marrying your favorite person.
