The Notice of Intended Marriage:
Let’s be honest: nobody dreams about the paperwork when they picture their wedding day. But as a meticulous celebrant, the legalities are my love language!
Before we can get you hitched in Central Victoria (or anywhere in Australia, for that matter), we have to tackle the NOIM.
What is it?
It is the official government document that tells the universe (and the Attorney-General) that you plan to marry.
The Golden Rule:
It must be lodged with your celebrant at least one calendar month before your wedding date. If you are getting married on November 15th, I need that form signed and in my hands by October 15th. No exceptions!
What do you need?
Your original birth certificates or valid passports.
A form of photo ID (like a driver’s license).
If applicable, evidence of how a previous marriage ended (divorce or death certificate).
Don’t panic about the red tape. Whether you are throwing a massive bash or opting for a sweet, simple “Legals Only” ceremony, I handle all the heavy lifting. You just bring your IDs, sign on the dotted line, and let me do the rest!
